Request a book checked out to someone else

You can request an item currently borrowed by another patron by issuing a recall. When you issue a recall, the current borrower’s original due date is canceled, and a new one is created.

Multiple recalls can be issued on the same item at the same time. Once the original borrower returns the item, the first user to issue a recall is guaranteed to have it for at least ten days. All subsequent recalls are subject to the same timeframe.

To recall a book that is checked out, use Library Search to find the book. When logged into the system, click on the Request link to begin the recall process.
